Alera Labs (“Alera,” “we,” “us”) provides educational health intelligence software. By creating an account or using the service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Alera.

1. Educational use only — no medical advice

Alera is an educational health intelligence platform. It is not a medical device, not FDA cleared or approved, not a diagnostic service, and not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Forecasts, organ-system scores, insights, chat answers, and discussion-prep exports are educational estimates that may be incomplete or incorrect. Always seek the advice of a qualified clinician with any questions about a medical condition. Never disregard professional medical advice because of something you read in Alera.

2. Eligibility (18+)

Alera is intended only for adults 18 years of age or older. By using the service you represent that you are at least 18. Accounts for minors are not permitted.

3. Accounts & security

You must provide an accurate email and keep your password confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account. Do not share credentials. Notify us promptly if you believe your account was accessed without authorization. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or pose security risk.

4. Your data

You may upload labs, wearable readings, and journal notes. You must only upload information you are authorized to share. You can export or delete your data from Settings → Privacy Center. See the Privacy Policy for collection, AI use, processors, retention, and your choices. Deletion removes app data we control; some residual copies may remain briefly in backups or with processors per their retention.

5. Plans, billing & cancellation

Alera offers Free, Basic, Pro, and Max plans. Free requires no card. Paid plans are billed monthly or yearly as selected at checkout. Prices are listed on the pricing page. Card payments are processed by Stripe; Alera does not store full card numbers. Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel in Settings or via Stripe customer tools. Taxes may apply. Refunds, if any, are handled case-by-case and are not guaranteed. Features are educational software access, not clinical services.

Soft-launch promotional trial: during the soft-launch period, new accounts may receive temporary Pro-plan access for approximately six months (about 183 days) without entering a card. This is a limited promotional grant of educational software features — not a medical benefit, clinical service, or guarantee of continued access. When the trial ends, the account returns to Free unless you add a payment method and complete checkout for a paid plan. We may email you when the trial expires. We may change or end the promotional trial for new signups at any time.

6. Acceptable use

Do not probe, scrape, overload, or attack the service; do not impersonate others; do not upload malware; and do not use Alera to provide clinical care to third parties as if it were a licensed medical product. We may rate-limit or refuse abusive traffic.

7. Intellectual property

Alera, its branding, software, and educational models are owned by Alera Labs or its licensors. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the service for personal educational purposes while your account is in good standing. You retain rights in content you upload, and grant us a license to process it to operate the service.

8. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that outputs are accurate, complete, or suitable for any health decision.

9. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ALERA AND ITS AFFILIATES ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID ALERA IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM (OR USD $50 IF YOU USED ONLY THE FREE PLAN).

10. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Alera from claims arising out of your misuse of the service, your uploaded content, or your violation of these Terms.

11. Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, excluding conflict-of-law rules. Courts located in Delaware shall have exclusive jurisdiction, except where applicable consumer law requires otherwise. Before filing a claim, contact privacy@aleralabs.io to attempt informal resolution.

12. Changes

We may update these Terms. The version date above is authoritative. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. Material changes may also be noted in product notices.
